That said, we generally think this cheaper option is a false economy in the long term. I just use the Spyder now for my PC monitors and laptop monitors. In less than five minutes, Spyder5 calibrates your monitor to an industry color reference standard to ensure color accuracy and consistency. Displa圜AL treats the Spyder5 (or rebadged Spyder 5s, like the Eizo EX3) as a full Spyder5 sensor, without artificially imposed limits on settings etc, and is thus the the vastly better software option for use with the cheaper members of the Spyder5 series. I'm sure you could probably access it, but for the limited knowledge I have, it's just not worth my time to learn it all. Switched to the i1 Display Pro, and I think its the better product. As I understand, there are hidden advanced menu settings on the TV that the professionals have access to in order to fine-tune the calibration. Not sure how effective it is on a TV as I just got a new TV with a free in-home professional calibration. Spyder5PRO software is extremely easy to use and offers a simple step by step wizard plus advanced options for the serious photographer. As it appears after calibration is finished all with recommended settings - 5000K, gamma recommended etc etc and about 90-120 cdm2 depending on light level all looks okay.
